Barbro Johansson Model Girls' Secondary School follows the standard Tanzania national secondary education curriculum together with the Tanzania national education guidelines (1982) that prepares students to sit for the examinations of National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA). Subjects taught are in areas of Natural sciences, Social Sciences and Business. English is the medium of instruction, also Swahili and French are taught. Currently the school has a fully established school from form I to form VI with a students' population of 600. A total of 9 A level combinations are offered including PCB, PCM, CBG, EGM, HGE, HKL, HGK, ECA and HGL.
